A wifi router inside your home is connected via an ethernet cable to 2-4 antennas on your building’s roof.

The antennas receive the internet wirelessly from nearby antennas on homes, apartments, and businesses in your neighborhood.

Together those antennas create a mesh network that ultimately connects to one of our fiber internet locations to get you online.

Every home has multiple paths to the internet. Your connection automatically chooses the best path, which results in fewer slowdowns and disruptions.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if my upstream link leaves the service or turns their power off?

Our network is built with multiple points of redundancy. Customers have multiple paths back to the internet and our software ensures your home is on the optimal path to stay connected.

Are the antennas emitting radio waves that are potentially harmful?

The antennas we are using are FCC-approved and similar to the 5 GHz radio in your wifi router, cell phone, or iPad. Per FCC guidelines at the 5 GHz range, our radios will be transmitting at no more than 1 Watt of power. To put this in context, the total transmit power for our antennas is 5-10 times less than your cell phone.

Does the weather affect your wireless signal or equipment?

There is a term called "rain fade" where droplets of water in the air can attenuate signal to differing degrees depending upon frequency. However, because our signal typically operates on the lower end of the frequency spectrum and is broadcast over relatively short distances, rain fade should not affect the performance of your connection to any noticeable degree.

How is the equipment powered?

Our equipment is powered from a standard 110V power supply inside your home. All of our equipment draws less power than a standard lightbulb.
